Philippine Independence Day

     Holidays are celebrated throughout the year. In the Philippines, a certain holiday stands out. On June 12, 1898, Filipinos were finally free from the colonization of Spaniards. Since then, Independence day was celebrated annually on that day. Going back, what did our ancestors do? Why do we celebrate it up until now?

     Filipinos had a hard time when the Spaniards came and colonized our country. It was difficult to look for work and buy property. Some were also treated as slaves. Filipinos before didn't have a lot of rights. Some worked for the Spaniards with no payment or wage. These are some of the reasons why some people stood up for us. They fought hard, even sacrificing their lives for us to have the freedom that we have now. Those people are who we call heroes. We celebrate Independence Day annually to remind us that our heroes sacrificed and fought hard to end the more than 300 years of the Spaniard's colonization in our country.

     Celebrating the Independence Day shows that we honor and respect our ancestors' sacrifices. We must continue to celebrate this day annually. We must continue to know and remember what our country has been through.

Sa pamamagitan ng tema, layon ng KWF na palaganapin ang wikang Filipino sa iba’t ibang larang ng karunungan, lalo na sa agham at matematika. Last July 23, 2018, the fourth monday of July, Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte had his third SONA. The different accomplishments and concerns about Filipinos were stated and discussed. I have read his piece and there are those lines that caught my attention. One is, "Your concern is human rights, mine is human lives," I remember this line and the reason why he stated this. He means that he values both the present and future, that he has knowledge on what crimes can do to the youth of our country. "I value friendship, make no doubt of it. Nutrition Month 2018

"Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin!" is the theme of the nutrition moth 2018 according to the National Nutrition Council (NNC) of the Philippines. Nutrition Month is celebrated every year on the month of  July. There are activities that are held to improve people's knowledge about nutrition, especially for students. There are activities for students to communicate with one another and activities where they can impart their talents and skills in relation to the given theme. The theme of the Nutrition month 2018 is about family food gardening wherein having food gardens can help improve the family and the community's food security. You can also earn some extra income by selling crops that were grown. The theme focuses on food production at home through the family's own garden.
